Filling capacity around the site runs into many many millions of litres so are capacity from 50ml to 1 tonne IBCs. Container sizes are 1l, 5l, 10l, 20l, 25l, 50l, 200l and IBCs. Again some of this capacity is under pressure at certain times of the year. Generally there is always spare capacity on site. The reason for the filling capacity being as it is goes back to the philosophy of versatility and a need to keep the permanent staff as low as possible. Labour overheads are one of the largest cost in this type of operation.

As a contract packer we are at the whim of our customers as regards packaging type. It is essential that changeover time is kept to a minimum. Changeover time costs money in the contract packing business. Grosvenor Chemicals have 2 lines capable of filling 1-10l bottle. Nitrogen purging is available as well as jet coding on HDPE, paper or card. The unit also provides for self adhesive, automatic labelling from reels. However things may be changing on this front as the company's main customer is looking to move this work in house.
