About Us

History

Chemical manufacture came to the Grosvenor site in 1976 when it was acquired by Crewe Chemicals. Before this time the site had had a number of uses including carpet manufacture. In 1980, having over extended themselves on Atrazine Crewe Chemicals went into receivership and the site was purchased by Mirfield Sales and the company became Pennine Chemical
Services. MSS were a trading company and spent little money on developing the site.

Size

The site is a relatively compact but is capable of significant throughout volumes. Current staffing level is around 70 with the emphasis on manufacturing personnel. (Regulatory) compliance needs are not neglected). Peak demands can be catered for with temporary labour. This is used only in the packaging department. Current turnover is around £10M. As most of the
work is contract raw materials costs do not make a significant contribution to this figure.
